In 1974, work in rooms and plazas continued, and test trenches were further excavated to locate kivas. By the end of the 1974 field season, excavations had cleared 100 (10%) of all Component I rooms and 50 (25%) of all Component II rooms. Given the consistency of architectural details, this sample appeared sufficient. More than 1,000 square meters of the site had been excavated during the project. Excavations and site clearing revealed not only the extent of the Component I occupation but allowed the less extensive Component II occupation to be completely mapped.
